David and Goliath

David was the son of Jesse and the youngest of seven brothers. He had musical talent and was a shepherd for his father. Most of the time he would watch the family’s sheep.

Saul was the king of Israel and he knew that the kinghood would not be inherited by his family.  At this time he was at war with the Philistines.

One day Jesse, David’s father,  told David to go and visit his brothers who were fighting in the war with the Philistines. He saw a giant man with the  Philistines, Goliath! He asked his brothers why no one would fight him. They said everyone was scared to. So David offered to fight him. King Saul offered his armor to David, but it was too heavy and big, but also because he had faith in God. So he refused the armor.  He went and found five smooth stones from a stream and headed back to the battlefield. He got his sling ready and…..fired!  WIZZZ…..THUNK!   David saw that the stone had found a nice place in Goliath’s forehead. I know that God can bless us with strength, knowledge, and protection  to do things we can’t do by ourselves.
